I pass this gate on my way to buy milk. I'm always drawn to it. The colour, the composition and the layering of the textures. It's art in situation to me and it doesn't even know it..
Today I've had a go at some water based monotypes at home.. how I miss the printing press! But it's a good and quick way to explore ideas and experiment ready for my next series of work.
Near the Oxo Tower there are some very interesting walls. This is exactly what inspires me.. the difference in tone and history laid bare on what surrounds us.
On Friday I visited the Robert Rauschenberg exhibition at the Tate Modern. I took me back to my college days when I was heavily influenced by his expressive work. It was very inspiring to see his boldness and approach to painting.
I am very drawn to the negative space between buildings and the angles and abstract images that are created.
